Who doesn’t love a good old backyard wedding ? I was stoked at the prospect of being a part of Nerida + Heath’s big day when they first enquired last year. They told me that they had just purchased beautiful character home which they had spent months pouring their heart and soul into, and nothing would mean more to them than to have their closest family & friends sharing in their big day in their newly renovated backyard.
It was a stunning October day, probably the first real nice Saturday we had grace us since the end of the winter period. I joined Nerida and the girls in their quaint city cottage as they prepared themselves before heading to the house where Heath had just finished putting the final touches to the backyard setup. As friends and family started to trickle in, the weather turned on for us as Nerida made her entrance.
As the ceremony wrapped up, we stocked up on refreshments before making the short trip to one of my new favourite outer city spots at the Brownhill Creek Reserce. We bounced around a few of the lovely rugged scapes before making our way back to the party. As the sun dipped and the beverages began flowing, we were entertained by a number of wonderful speeches before Heath treated us to Nerida to a stunning rendition of Don’t Panic by Coldplay before taking to the dance floor to sing his way through his own first dance to what is one of my favourite songs of all time, Bloc Party’s So Here We Are.
