This wedding sort of feels like the ending of a chapter for me, the chapter being the wedding season (which consequently begins next week on the south coast of England) so I am still not quite sure why it feels this way.
Now here’s a wedding that I have had highlighted in my calendar since the day Rachel, Callum & I first met. You know when you meet someone and you think, “damn, I like these guys”, well that exactly what I thought when we first caught up last year.
This wedding had amazing written all over it, end of May, Stangate House in the hills followed by a reception at Tenth & Gibson, could you ask for anything better ? I think not. I had just flown back in from working up at the Whitsunday’s and was greeted with the some really filthy weather here in Adelaide. Looking at the forecast, Saturday was due to clear up into a sensational winters day, and it didn’t disappoint. I met with Callum & the boys at my favourite haunt C.R.E.A.M at Brighton for breakfast before we took a leisurely stroll down to the beach. I then made the short Journey to Rachel & Callum’s home where I met up with the ever gorgeous Rachel who was just finishing up with her morning preparations.
We then made the drive into the hills to Stangate House which honestly comes alive with colour in the winter months. Mismatched chairs under the Oak Tree, a coffee cart and good company is what we were greeted with. The ceremony was stunning, the clouds came over and everyone rugged up to watch these two lovers exchange their vows before we jumped in my car and took the winding hills roads around to some spots as we headed for Bowden. Now I have never been to Tenth & Gibson before and had always been curious as to whether it would live up to the hype, but damn, this place is cool. It just oozes that effortless coolness and combined with the stunning thought and execution of the decor courtesy of Rachel & Callum, this place was off the charts.
Thank you guys so much for having me along for the ride, i’ll hopefully see you both in Iceland in a couple of weeks time !
