I was lucky enough to be contacted to shoot Kimberley + Matt’s Auckland wedding. Every-now and again you come across two people, who are so impossibly lovely, that being tasked with documenting their day feels anything other than work.
This wasn’t a day that went without a hitch, in fact it was quite the opposite. The day started with Matt and the guys being placed under lockdown due to a machete wielding fugitive taking refuge in their garden during the preparations in the morning. The girls then had their bags, phones & credit cards stolen as some opportunist thieves raided the church during the ceremony. We then had to brace ourselves for some of the most crazy weather conditions I have ever shot in in the small window we had before the dark set in.
To say this was anything near your conventional fairytale wedding would certainly be a stretch, but I don’t think anyone would have had it any different. Here’s how it went down.
