What a way to end a truly fantastic year. My story with Elise & Benny begins earlier in the year where I was sat on a table at the reception of Katie + Ben’s wedding which I had the pleasure shooting back in February. We both got chatting and hit it off straight away. Fast forward a couple of months and we were catching up to natter about his very own wedding to the gorgeous Elise.
It was my 61st and final wedding for 2015 and what a way to cap it off, it was the cherry on my proverbial 2015 (wedding) cake. I was a little concerned that my already scorched English skin might suffer for a second day running down at the beach at Port Willunga, however with the gorgeous aqua water combined with the clear blue skies and beaming sun, came complete with a cool breeze that swept along the coast to keep us temperate during the picturesque beach ceremony.
We then headed north along the coast to stop off at a couple of old dusty paddocks before retreating to the newly renovated Beach Hotel at Seaford for evening. After some truly cracking speeches from the always affable Scotty Butler, Elise’s brother Jarad & Benny’s brother Josh, we quickly nipped down to Port Noarlunga for some dusk shots before returning just after dark to complete the formalities with the first dance.
I can’t honestly speak highly enough of these two beautiful souls. When you work a job like mine, you inadvertently become somewhat of an expert at watching people and deciphering emotion, and honestly it’s truly a heartwarming experience being in the company of both Benny + Elise. I can’t quite find the words to describe how lovely they both are, and that extends to the company that they keep. I have had the pleasure of getting to know some of their friends over the past year and honestly guys, you are all incredible. Im going to treat myself to a bottle of Graham Stevens Vintage Fortified Shiraz to see in the NY. I wish you all a safe and prosperous 2016 ! Much Love x
